Cummins Spinners is an Australian Company that makes aluminium spinners for non-certified aircraft. It has been providing the Ultralight aircraft market and homebuilders in Australia with quality aluminium spinners.
All of the spinners are manufactured from spun aluminium. This is Steve working on a batch of spinners.
Each spinner has to meet the standards before it moves on to the next stage of the production.
The backing plates are also made from spun aluminium.
The bolt holes in the backing plates and squeeze plates, are milled on a computerised milling machine to within a 10000th of an inch.
All the hardware (rivets screws etc) are certified aircraft parts.
Cummins Spinners has a range of cones from 4" to 13 " and will customise the cut outs to suit you propeller's profile We have a unique method of moulding the propeller cut outs that puts a small flange around the cut-out. This gives the spinner extra strength.
The spinners can be highly polished for that finishing touch to you aircraft.
Chrome Spinners
Cummins Spinners are pleased to unannounced that we can now supply the spinner cone chrome plated. Chroming helps to maintain that mirror finish, but it still requires some maintenance (see below) Chrome plating is very labour intensive, and the cost is not cheap, but the results are excellent. Tim of Bendigo Electroplating personally handles the chroming of the spinners. To help maintain the cost of chroming as low as possible Chrome Plating will only be done in the last week of a month. Orders for Chrome spinners will have to received by the 10th of the month so the spinner can be made in time for chroming. One off chrome orders will not be done.
